MINUTES OF
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR SEPTEMBER 23, 2020
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on September 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
Pledge was led by Mayor Wyndham
ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Traci Orman.
OTHERS PRESENT: Fire Chief Jake Bennett and Brazil Times Editor Frank Phillips.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Linda Messmer made a motion to approve minutes from September 9, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0
NEW BUSINESS:
- Revised Dispatch Interlocal Agreement – The County requested one change to the Interlocal Agreement for Dispatch Services (Board of Works Resolution 10-2020) in which the sentence regarding staffing requirements would be removed and the County would determine staffing requirements for the dispatch center. Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the modification, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
- Humane Shelter Contract – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the Humane Shelter Contract for 2021-2022 for $25,000 each year (2022 subject to appropriation); seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
- Approval of Mowings (see list) – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the mowing list for September 23, 2020; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
- Approval of Cleanups (see list) – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the cleanup list for September 23, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
FIRE CHIEF REPORT: Chief Jake Bennett
CLAIMS:
- Clerk’s Office – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the claims from the Utilities’ Office; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- Utilities’ Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Clerk’s Office; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ruthann Jeffries seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:09 a.m.
