MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR JULY 24, 2019
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on July 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Ruthann Jeffries.
ROLL CALL: Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, and City Attorney Traci Orman. Mayor Brian Wyndham was absent.
OTHERS PRESENT: Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan, Fire Chief Jake Bennett and Mr. Daniel Rose
PLEDGE: The pledge to the Flag was led by Ruthann Jeffries.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Linda Messmer made a motion to approve minutes from July 10, 2019; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
OLD BUSINESS: NONE
NEW BUSINESS:
- Affirmation of Unsafe Property -250 N. Charles B Hall – Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan explained that this property should be torn down by the end of August 2019.
- Cleanups (see list) – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Cleanup list for July 24, 2019, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
- Mowing (see list) -Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Mowing list for July 24, 2019, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Fire Chief Jake Bennett gave the Fire Department Report (see attached).
CLAIMS:
- Clerk – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 2-0
- Utilities – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
