THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR NOVEMBER 10, 2021
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on November 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman
OTHERS PRESENT: Fire Chief Jake Bennett
NEW BUSINESS:
- Hiring Process for Brazil Fire Department – Fire Chief Jake Bennett is requesting that the Board approve 4 candidates, as hirable, contingent upon passing state exams and pension approval. Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve Cody Byers, Patrick Dighton, Caden Heyman and Tanner Wilson as hirable for the Brazil Fire Department contingent upon passing physical and mental exams and pension approval, and to remain hirable for 3 years, subject to an updated evaluation, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve a conditional offer of employment to Cody Byers, subject to state exams and pension approval, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ruthann Jeffries seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 4:08 p.m.
