MINUTES OF
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR NOVEMBER 24, 2021
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on November 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.

ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman
OTHERS PRESENT: Planning and Zoning Assistant Cathy Hunter
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Linda Messmer made a motion to approve minutes from November 10, 2021 meetings at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0. Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Memorandum of Executive Meeting from November 10, 2021, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Agreement for Services Between City of Brazil and Town of Center Point, and Waiver of Conflict of Interest –The City of Brazil has a contract with the Town of Center Point to continue running operations for its Wastewater Plant, including the use of a certified operator. City Attorney Traci Orman represents both Brazil and Center Point, so there is a need for the Board to sign a conflict of waiver of interest. Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Agreement for Services between City of Brazil, Indiana and Town of Center Point, Indiana to provide Wastewater services, and the Waiver of Conflict of Interest, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- Cleanups – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve a property cleanup at 618 N. Ashley St., seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
CLAIMS:
- Clerk’s Office – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the claims from the Clerk’s Office; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- Utilities’ Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Utilities’ Office; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
FUTURE AGENDA: NONEADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Linda Messmer seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:12 a.m.
