THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY

BRAZIL, INDIANA

FOR JUNE 8, 2022

A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on June 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.

Pledge was led by Mayor Wyndham.

ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman (Linda Messmer was absent)

OTHERS PRESENT: Fire Chief Jake Bennett, Police Chief Clint McQueen, Street Superintendent Brian Bemis, Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan, PZ Assistant Cathy Hunter, Resident Daniel Rose, Mark Miller from GAI Engineering, Warren Artz from Milestone Contractors, Inc.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve minutes from May 25, 2022, seconded by Mayor Wyndham. The motion passed 2-0.

AUDIENCE COMMENTS: Daniel Rose was present and asked about sidewalk and    driveway repairs to his residence after an easement was granted.  Mayor Wyndham will check on a timeline and let him know.

     OLD BUSINESS: None

     NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Community Crossings Bids – One bid was received from Milestone Contractors, Inc. and was opened by Mark Miller from GAI Consultants.  Milestone Contractors, Inc total bid was for $371,723.30.  The Board will take the bid under advisement and a formal recommendation will be given by GAI Consultants. 
  2. Approval of Clean-Ups (see list) – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the Clean Up list for June 8, 2022, seconded by Mayor Wyndham.  The motion passed 2-0.
  3. Approval of Mowing (see list) – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the Mowing list for June 8, 2022, seconded by Ruthann Jeffries.  The motion passed. 2-0.

CLAIMS:

Clerk’s Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Clerk’s Office; seconded by Mayor Wyndham. The motion passed 2-0.

Utilities’ Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Utilities’ Office; seconded by Mayor Wyndham.  The motion passed 2-0.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None

ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ruthann Jeffries seconded by Mayor Wyndham. The motion passed 2-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
