MINUTES OF
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR NOVEMBER 25, 2020
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on November 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.
Pledge was led by Mayor Wyndham.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Traci Orman
OTHERS PRESENT: Police Chief Clint McQueen, Fire Chief Jake Bennett, PZ Asst. Cathy Hunter
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Linda Messmer made a motion to approve minutes from November 9, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Unsafe Building Affirmation -323 E. Kruzan St. – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Unsafe Building Affirmation for 323 E. Kruzan St., seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- Joink Right of Way for Pizza King – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the Right of Way for Joink at Pizza King, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
POLICE CHIEF REPORT: Chief Clint McQueen
Chief McQueen asked the Board of Works to appoint Christopher Jones as a full-time officer. Mr. Jones previously worked for the Terre Haute Police Department. Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to appoint Christopher Jones as a full-time officer with the City of Brazil Police Department, effective January 1, 2021, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
CLAIMS:
- Clerk’s Office – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the claims from the Clerk’s Office; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- Utilities’ Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Utilities’ Office; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Linda Messmer seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
