THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR OCTOBER 14, 2020
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on October 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Ruthann Jeffries.
Pledge was led by Ruthann Jeffries.
ROLL CALL: Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Clerk Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Traci Orman.
OTHERS PRESENT: Police Chief Clint McQueen, Planning and Zoning Assistant Cathy Hunter
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Linda Messmer made a motion to approve minutes from September 23, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
POLICE REPORT: Chief Clint McQueen
- There were 1536 calls for service during September which led to 74 incident reports, 26 arrests, 42 tickets, 131 warnings, 12 crashes, 17 vehicle impounds and 27 handgun permits.
NEW BUSINESS:
- GAI Agreement to update AMP for 2021 Community Crossings -Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the GAI Agreement to update the Asset Management Plan for $26,500 as well as the $9,500 contract for the 2021 Community Crossings Project; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
- Approval of Mowings (see list) – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the mowing list for October 14, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
- Approval of Clean Ups (see list) – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the clean up list for October 14, 2020; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
CLAIMS:
- Clerk’s Office – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the claims from the Clerk’s Office; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0.
- Utilities’ Office – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the claims from the Utilities’ Office; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 2-0.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Linda Messmer seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 2-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:37 a.m.
