THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY

BRAZIL, INDIANA

FOR MARCH 15, 2022

A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on March 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.

Pledge was led by Mayor Wyndham.

ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman

OTHERS PRESENT: Wastewater Superintendent Dallas King, Andrew Graves from Graves Construction, Tony Akles from Strand Associates, Jim Davidson from Sherwin Williams

 NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Opening of Bids for WWTP Chemical Building – Tony Akles from Strand Associates opened a bid from Graves Construction and verified that the bid was signed and included the bid bond and acknowledgment of addendum.  Total lump sum bid from Graves Construction was $939,393.00.  Bids will be taken under advisement.  Tony will contact IDEM to ask for an extension of April 1, 2022 deadline to be under contract for this project and he will also reach out to SRF for possible assistance in funding.
  2. Resolution 3-2022 – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve Resolution 3-2022, A Resolution Amending Resolution 3-2021 Regarding a Fee for Septic Haulers, seconded by Linda Messmer.  The motion passed 3-0.  The Resolution will lower dump fees from $250 to $200 for a vehicle which holds 3200 gallons, and from $150 to $100 for a vehicle which holds 2000 gallons. 

ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Linda Messmer     seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:12 a.m.
