MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR MARCH 15, 2017
A meeting of the Common Council was held on March 15, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Angie Modesitt.
ROLL CALL: Steve Bell, Brad Deal, Roy Kellar, Shane Litz, Angela Modesitt. Mayor Brian Wyndham was absent.
The Pledge to the Flag was led by Angie Modesitt.
OTHERS PRESENT: City Attorney Traci Orman, Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, Parks Board President Carrol Evans
PRAYER was said by Steve Bell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Roy Kellar made a motion to approve minutes from February 8, 2017; seconded by Shane Litz. The motion passed 5-0.

OLD BUSINESS: NONE
NEW BUSINESS:
1.) William Yockey – Chairman – Indiana Coal Miner Political Action Committee – not present
2.) A Public Hearing was opened at 5:07 to discuss Additional Appropriations for the Park’s Department. The Public Hearing was closed at 5:08.
Additional Appropriations/Carrol Evans –Carrol Evans, Parks Board President, was present to discuss a drainage project pertaining to Forest Park. Resolution 3-2017 is for an Additional Appropriation of $20,000 for the Park and Recreation Fund to be used to fund the drainage project. Steve Bell made a motion to approve Resolution 3-2017; seconded by Brad Deal. The motion passed 5-0.
3.) Impound Fee – Police Department – Council Members discussed a $100 impound fee.
Fees paid would go into the Continuing Education Fund. Shane Litz made a motion to to take this under advisement until the April meeting; seconded by Roy Kellar. The
motion passed 5-0.
