MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL

BRAZIL, INDIANA

FOR DECEMBER 30, 2020

A meeting of the Common Council was held on December 30, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.     

ROLL CALL: Steve Bell, Angela Modesitt, Karen Boes, Shane Litz, Brad Deal and Mayor Brian Wyndham.

The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Mayor Brian Wyndham.

OTHERS PRESENT:

  • Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, Brazil City Police Chief Clint McQueen, Clay County Humane Society President Toni Carter, and News 10 Representative Frank Phillips.

PRAYER was said by Angie Modesitt.             

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: None

AUDIENCE COMMENTS:

    Clay County Humane Society President, Toni Carter, was present and gave a report on the current numbers and upcoming projects at the facility.  See Attached sheet.   

OLD BUSINESS:    NONE

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. 2020 Budget Transfers – Steve Bell made a motion to approve the 2020 Budget Transfers, seconded by Shane Litz.  Motion Passed 5-0.
  2. Police Contract – Police Chief Clint McQueen was present to answer any questions about the updated Police Contract.  There were some changes made to the Health Contribution section of the contract.  Angie Modesitt made a motion to approve the Police Contract with changes made, seconded by Brad Deal.  Motion Passed 5-0.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:  

Steve Bell –

  • Stated that it has been a tough year and wanted the Mayor Brian Wyndham to know that he thought that he has done a great job with grants and the city in general.  Steve wanted to also thank the Mayor Brian Wyndham for updating City Hall.        

Shane Litz –

  • Wanted to thank the Council and the Mayor for being so supportive on behalf of the Forest Park Golf Course.  Stated that the $10,000.00 donation for the new Golf Truck was very well received. 

MAYOR COMMENTS: Mayor Brian Wyndham wanted to thank all the local restaurants and businesses.

FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:

Next City Council Meeting scheduled for January 13, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. 

ADJOURNMENT: Brad Deal made a motion to adjourn meeting; seconded by Angie Modesitt.  The motion passed 4-0.  Meeting adjourned at 6:08 p.m.
