MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR OCTOBER 9, 2019
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on October 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.
ROLL CALL: Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Mayor Wyndham, City Attorney Traci Orman and Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett.
OTHERS PRESENT: Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan
PLEDGE: The pledge to the Flag was led by Mayor Wyndham.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve minutes from September 25, 2019; seconded by Mayor Wyndham. The motion passed 2-0. Linda Messmer abstained due to her absence on the September 25th meeting.
OLD BUSINESS: NONE
NEW BUSINESS:
- Unsafe Building Affirmation –properties have been inspected by the City’s Building Inspector and he has stated that both properties are unsafe and uninhabited.
- 816 N. Mary Patton – Linda Messmer made a motion to affirm property at 816 N. Mary Patton to be unsafe; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
- 250 N. Charles B. Hall – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to affirm property 250 N. Charles B. hall to be unsafe; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
- Cleanups (see attached) – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve clean up of property at 290 W. Collins, seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
- Ruthann Jeffries made the comment that the tear down property on S. Forest looks great.
CLAIMS:
- Clerk – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0
- Utilities – Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve; seconded by Linda Messmer. The motion passed 3-0.
