MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR NOVEMBER 10, 2021
A meeting of the Common Council was held on November 10, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
ROLL CALL: Shane Litz, Brad Deal, Angie Modesitt, Karen Boes and Steve Bell
The Pledge to the American Flag was led by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
OTHERS PRESENT: Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman, Brad Emmert and Joey Bennett with the Brazil Times.
PRAYER was said by Steve Bell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: None
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Emmert Real Property Tax Abatement (Resolution 2021-12) – Steve Bell made a motion to approve Resolution 2021-12 allowing a 10-year Real Property Tax Abatement to Brad Emmert and Kim Emmert O’Dell regarding the property on Whiterock Road , seconded by Karen Boes. The motion passed 5-0. Final hearing and adoption will be at the December 8th Council meeting.
COUNCIL COMMENTS:
- Angie Modesitt – Questioning approval of the modular on Depot and Central. Mayor will check with the PZ Administrator. Also wanting a follow-up with Janet on the chickens on Depot St. to make sure they are now in compliance with local Ordinances.
- Steve Bell – Noted a property on South Walnut, possibly owned by Ceres, in bad condition. Mayor will follow up with PZ Administrator to see if it’s in compliance.
- Shane Litz – Checked on the alley and house from last meetings discussion. Mayor said the owners are taking care of it and the house will be torn down.
MAYOR COMMENTS:
- There will be a Veteran’s Day ceremony at the Courthouse at 11:00.
- The new City Garage is almost complete. We are currently waiting on the gas company for hookup.

ADJOURNMENT: Brad Deal made a motion to adjourn meeting; seconded by Angie Modesitt. Motion passed 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:24 p.m.
