MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR January 8, 2025
A meeting of the Common Council was held on January 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
PRAYER: Was led by Angie Modesitt.
ROLL CALL: Council members present, Shane Litz, Steve Bell, Karen Boes, Angie Modesitt and Brad Deal.
OTHERS PRESENT:
- Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Lou Britton and Ivy Jacobs with the Brazil Times.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Brad Deal made a motion to approve minutes from December 30, 2024, seconded by Shane Litz. Passed 5-0.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: None
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Ordinance 1-2025 Parking Area for Core Physical Therapy – Brad Deal made a motion to suspend the rules and pass Ordinance 1-2025 on the first reading, seconded by Karen Boes. Brad Deal then made a motion to approve Ordinance 1-2025, seconded by Karen Boes. Motion Passed 5-0.
- Final Action – Regarding Resolution 9-2024 (Timberland Home Center) – Steve Bell made a motion to approve Final Action of Resolution 9-2024 for a 10 year abatement, seconded by Angie Modesitt. Motion Passed 5-0.

- Shane Litz – Commented that the Street Department did a great job with the snow removal.
MAYOR COMMENTS:
- Mayor Brian Wyndham stated that we have been having some issues with the trash removal for heavy trash. Mayor Brian Wyndham also stated that we do not have enough man power to shovel the sidewalks in town.
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: the nextCouncil Meeting is on February 5, 2024.
ADJOURNMENT: Karen Boes made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Brad Deal. Motionpassed 5-0. Meeting adjourned @ 5:16 p.m.
