MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR JULY 29, 2024
A meeting of the Common Council was held on July 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
PRAYER: None.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Brian Wyndham and Council Members, Steve Bell, Karen Boes, Shane Litz, Brad Deal and Angie Modesitt.
OTHERS PRESENT:
- Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Lou Britton, Baker Tilley Representative Jessica Lynch, Midwestern Engineers Mark Sullivan and Brazil Times Representative Hayley Cooper.

OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Water and Wastewater Rate Study presented by Baker Tilley Jessica Lynch: Jessica Lynch with Baker Tilley presented the Watter and Wastewater rate study to the council. Jessica provided everyone with packets of information. Jessica explained to the council that to apply for an SRF Loan we would need to let them know if we would proceed with a rate increase/adjustment. The rate increase/adjustment would include capital improvements for a new water main along US Hwy 40 and new wells at our well fields. Mark Sullivan with Midwestern Engineers explained that the total project would be close to $12 million dollars. SRF would provide a forgivable loan to the city. Steve Bell made a motion to approve moving forward with a rate increase/adjustment to be discussed at a future meeting and to have Baker Tilley, Jessica Lynch respond to SRF on behalf of the city, seconded by Brad Deal. Motion Passed 5-0.

ADJOURNMENT: Brad Deal made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Shane Litz. Motion passed 5-0. Meeting adjourned @ 5:51 p.m.
