MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR JULY 9, 2025
A meeting of the Common Council was held on July 9, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
PRAYER: Was led by Steve Bell.
ROLL CALL: Council members present, Steve Bell, Karen Boes, Brad Deal, and Shane Litz. Angie Modesitt was absent.
OTHERS PRESENT:
- Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, City Attorney Lou Britton, Brazil City Fire Chief Jake Bennett, City of Brazil IT David Archer and Northview Building Trades Instructor Dan Dragon.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Karen Boes made a motion to approve May 28, 2025 corrected minutes and June 11, 2025 minutes, seconded by Shane Litz. Motion Passed 4-0.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS: None
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
- Dan Dragon – Northview Building Trades Instructor – Handed out packets to Council members concerning Clay View Estates. Dan requested 6 new signs to be added to the subdivision; 3 stop signs and 3 street signs. The council made a unanimous decision to have City of Brazil Attorney Lou Britton create Ordinance for signs.
- Ordinance 9-2025 concerning the Brazil City Fire Equipment Fund and its uses – Steve Bell made a motion to suspend the rules and pass Ordinance 9-2025 on the first reading, seconded by Karen Boes. Motion Passed 4-0. Steve Bell then made a motin to approve Ordinance 9-2025, seconded by Karen Boes. Motion Passed 4-0.

ADJOURNMENT: Brad Deal made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Karen Boes. Motionpassed 4-0. Meeting adjourned @ 5:14 p.m.
