MINUTES OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
BRAZIL, INDIANA
FOR FEBRUARY 11, 2026
A meeting of the Common Council was held on February 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Brian Wyndham.
PRAYER: Was led by Steve Bell.
ROLL CALL: Council members present, Brad Deal, Shane Litz, Angie Modesitt, Steve Bell and Karen Boes.
OTHERS PRESENT:
- Clerk-Treasurer Karen McQueen, Attorney Scott Craig subbing in for City Attorney Lou Britton, Georgia Day, Frank Sweaingen, Becki Gross, Kasey with the Brazil Times and Fire Chief Jake Bennett.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Brad Deal made a motion to approve January 14, 2026,
seconded by Angie Modesitt. Motion Passed 4-1. Karen Boes abstained.
AUDIENCE COMMENTS:
Becki Gross with Greene Realty was present to discuss with council ideas and Ordinances related to snow removal from city owned, residential and business owed sidewalks in city limits. Becki would like to see the city remove the snow from the sidewalks. Mayor Brian Wyndham stated that she has a valid concern and commented that the city would take this situation under consideration.

COUNCIL COMMENTS:
- Angie Modesitt – Wanted the Mayor and council to be aware that there were some street cuts around town that were needing addressed. West North Street and Hendrix and Depot Streets all have street cuts that are needing addressed. Mayor Brian Wyndham stated that he will have our Street Superintendent look into this.

- Brad Deal – Wanted to thank everyone for the flowers for his mother’s funeral.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: “As a result of a technological failure and despite its best efforts, the Brazil Common Council was prevented from live streaming, recording, archiving, or maintaining a copy of a live transmission or recording of its meeting held on December 10, 2025, commencing at 5 PM as required by Indiana code §:5-14-1.5-2.9. “
