MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
FOR JUNE 7, 2017
A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on June 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.
ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Ruthann Jeffries, Linda Messmer, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett, City Attorney Traci Orman
OTHERS PRESENT: Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan, Ron Gregory of Dave O’Mara, Jay Wolfe of Wabash Valley Asphalt
PLEDGE: The pledge to the Flag was led by Mayor Wyndham.
1.) Open Paving Bids – 2017 Community Crossings Paving Project – The following bids were received and opened:
Wabash Valley Asphalt, LLC – $897,616.91
Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. – $1,029,580.60
Bids will be taken under review with the City Attorney and will award at 10:00 a.m. on June 14th.
2.) FEMA Phase II – Extension of Grant Agreement – Phase II of the Fema Flood Buyout is complete, but an extension of the Grant Agreement is needed to pay claims. Linda Messmer made a motion to approve the Phase II State-Local extension of the Grant Agreement; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
3.) Contract for Website – Planning and Zoning Administrator Janet McClellan explained the need for the City of Brazil website to be updated. Linda Messmer made a motion to accept a contract between the City of Brazil and Jennifer Reginald for website redesign and updating, up to $5,000; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Linda Messmer; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries. The motion passed 3-0. Meeting was adjourned at 10:28 a.m.
