MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY

BRAZIL, INDIANA

FOR FEBRUARY 24, 2016

 

A meeting with the Board of Public Works was held on February 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Brazil City Hall.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyndham.

ROLL CALL: Mayor Wyndham, Linda Messmer, Ruthann Jeffries, City Attorney Traci Orman, Deputy Clerk Melissa Dorsett

OTHERS PRESENT: Planning and Zoning Administrator Teresa Glenn, Human Resources Administrator Mary Jo Archer, Daniel Rose, Brazil Times Representative Frank Phillips

PLEDGE: The pledge to the Flag was lead by Mayor Wyndham.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  Linda Messmer made a motion to approve February 10, 2016 minutes; seconded by Ruthann Jeffries.  The motion passed 3-0.

 

AUDIENCE COMMENTS:  NONE

 

OLD BUSINESS: Mayor Wyndham stated that all bids from the February 10th Board of Works Meeting were taken under review.  The City is currently checking credentials on all of the contractors.  MidWest Engineering is reviewing the Villas of Hollybrook bids.  Mayor Wyndham said that we will move forward with the demolition of 726/728 N. Meridian St.  Daniel Rose wanted clarification about the 726/728 N. Meridian St. house title.  Mayor Wyndham stated that the property is not titled to the City, but is just an Unsafe Building.  Frank Phillips, Brazil Times Representative, will correct the misprint in the Brazil Times.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

1.) Ron Muncie-Sick Time- City Employee Ron Muncie passed away on February 20, 2016.  Ruthann Jeffries made a motion to approve the payment of sick days to Ron Muncie.  Linda Messmer seconded.  The motion passed 3-0.

CLAIMS:

  • Clerk’s Office – Linda Messmer made a motion to approve. Mayor Wyndham The motion passed 3-0.
  • Utilities’ Office –Linda Messmer made a motion to approve. Mayor Wyndham    The motion passed 3-0.
